Description
Students apply the leadership, communication, and civic engagement skills developed throughout the program through public speaking, leadership challenges, collaborative projects, and engagement with community leaders. WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS - Meet and Greet with Congress Staff - Museum of the American Indian - Arlington National Cemetary - American President - National Portrait Gallery - Mock Congress Simulation - AFAC Community Service Project - Reflection Activities - Graduation & Certificates PROGRAM LOGISTICS - Program Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM -Pick Up/Drop Off: Arlington Central Library Parking Lot (Virginia Square Metro area) - Students will travel together by Metro and public transportation with YDI staff supervision throughout the week. - Metro transportation costs are included. - Students should bring a backpack, refillable water bottle, packed lunch or spending money for lunch, and comfortable walking shoes each day.
