Students explore how ordinary people and communities have shaped history through leadership, advocacy, and collective action while discovering how movements create lasting change. WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS - Belmont-Paul Women's Equality Monument - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Tour - MLK Memorial - FDR Memorial - Lincoln Memorial - U.S. Holocaust Museum - National Museum of African American History & Culture - AFAC Community Service Project - Coalition Challenge & Showcase *No camp on Friday in observance of the July 4 holiday. PROGRAM LOGISTICS - Program Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM - Pick Up/Drop Off: Arlington Central Library Parking Lot (Virginia Square Metro area) - Students will travel together by Metro and public transportation with YDI staff supervision throughout the week. - Metro transportation costs are included. - Students should bring a backpack, refillable water bottle, packed lunch or spending money for lunch, and comfortable walking shoes each day. - Please note that all bags and personal items are subject to security screening at federal buildings and museums.
