Students explore how media shapes public understanding, evaluate information for credibility, and learn how communication influences civic participation. WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS - Planet Word Museum Tour - Digital Citizenship Lab - AFAC Community Service Project - Media Challenge & Showcase PROGRAM LOGISTICS - Program Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM - Pick Up/Drop Off: Arlington Central Library Parking Lot (Virginia Square Metro area) - Students will travel together by Metro and public transportation with YDI staff supervision throughout the week. - Metro transportation costs are included. - Students should bring a backpack, refillable water bottle, packed lunch or spending money for lunch, and comfortable walking shoes each day. - Please note that all bags and personal items are subject to security screening at federal buildings and museums.
