Students learn how diverse groups work together to solve problems, build relationships, conserve resources, and advance shared goals. WEEKLY SCHEDULE - Monday: Botanic Garden and Capitol Tour Votes for Women - Tuesday: Tour Folger Shakespeare Library and Indigenous Peoples in Capitol Art - Wednesday: American History Museum - Thursday: Supermarket Activity on Food Security - Friday: Guest Speakers: Arlington County Board Members PROGRAM LOGISTICS - Program Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM -Pick Up/Drop Off: Quincy Park Shelter - 1024 N. Nelson Street, Arlington, VA 22201 (On Nelson Street and Washington Boulevard) - Students will travel together by Metro and public transportation with YDI staff supervision throughout the week. - Students should bring a backpack, refillable water bottle, packed lunch or spending money for lunch, and comfortable walking shoes each day. - Metro transportation costs are included. - Please note that all bags and personal items are subject to security screening at federal buildings and museums.
